Observation details
would not have thought 2 birds considered 'high count' but apparently rare at this location. Bird initially picked up by Peter Lansley and identified as Sand Martin/Bank Swallow subsequently 'disappeared' returning some time later was in fact 2 birds working rice paddies over considerable area. Observed several passes in this time. Key features observed incl short shallow forked tail, whitish underparts with diagnostic broad dark breast band, white chin. Only real confusion species perhaps juv Barn Swallow but easily discounted given dark underwing coverts [Barn Sallow is white] Record pic attached.
