Observation details
in a mixed group (with Pearled Treerunner, Golden-fronted Redstart, Lacrimose Mountain-Tanager, and maybe the Tody-Tyrant) right at the high point of the road. I was completely confused by these birds, as according to all the field guides (text and illustrations) Oleaginous only has a dull yellow supercilium (including ssp frontalis to which the birds in western Colombia should belong), not bright white as in these birds. One individual (second photo) had dull yellow underparts, but otherwise the plumage was dull olive aside from the white super, based on which I´ve identified as Oleaginous. Also, a near identical bird is posted as Oleaginous in HBW (https://www.hbw.com/ibc/photo/oleaginous-hemispingus-hemispingus-frontalis/adult-branch-large-tick-attached-its-neck).
