Observation details
A curious bird! I saw a small passerine fluttering around and figured it was a Chickadee. Took some quick photos, and noted the curious way it would lean into each takeoff before jumping. Later, looking at the photos, I saw it was an olive brown finch with a long, yellow eyebrow and a brilliant white throat. The vent religion was slightly streaky. Didn't seem exactly right for Goldfinch or Siskin, but I felt the former is more like the bird in question at the time. Of late, the ever helpful moderators of ebird, as well as the gentleman who interviewed me recently, have pointed out the fact it is quite clearly the good old White Throated Sparrow! seeing one high in the trees, by itself, really threw the bird out of context! Thank you all for the ID!
