Yorktown Log DAT #6 Pencil sharpener 041-stop 052 056 101-105 111-116 121-129 132-138 345 dry lab BB "would have been nice too bad." 635 BB in bkgrnd Nice briefing off mic 1640:BA&BB so we have a good absence of data and we think we know where it isn't, we think we know where it ain't which is really useful. I've stayed away from this area, ugly, hand to hand, same thing with Bismarck, and didn't find it. 1717 if this was one fix, but we have all these independent separate ships with multiple fixes, 3 separate navigators, I can't believe they called each other up and said, what did you use? I'll use it. 3 indiy people shooting their fixes and their clustered...Bismarck, monstrous separations. that's a tight cluster tight, five miles. and ATV can handle that kind of real estate. 1822 1925 BB we'll just go there, because that's the only Yorktown sized target, we got it 3x, 3x, 1, 2 just hit it again, nothing else around Pop! got any other ideas? 1958 2100 BA What creates a debris field? everything (BB) take this room and dump it over the side. so you throw this over, this guy sinks pretty fast, this guy, lighter go forever, all the time they're sinking separated out by the currents, seen it on thresher, scorpion, bismarck, Titanic, roman ships. so a bigger smudge down there than the sonar can't see. 2146 2242 BB there's the Yorktown, sonar smudge, and there's a 2 mile debris trail 2248 (BB: sonar can't tell the difference between a rock and metal -but an eyeball can" ) 4936 ambi 5047.
