Media notes
Was quite close to the trail. Had not heard the whistled notes before. Ends with mor typical whip or quip clucking notes. Confirmed by sight-- shape as it flew up and landed in tree where it called again.
Observation details
Heard it calling spontaneously a little before 6:30 AM from the thicket at L position 1.7. I then used the app to call it and it provided long series of what I believe to be alarm notes-- whistling and almost a warble, then the more typical whip whip. Then I saw it fly from the Thicket up into a live oak tree where it continued calling. Obtained three rather long recording segments. Did not try to see the bird any closer as it is too dark for photos and do not wish to cause it greater disturbance.
