Observation details

Wasn't sure what this was. Moved around the tree a lot like a woodpecker, often hanging upside down from a limb or going vertically up and down the trunk. Long bill that looked a little curved. Very small bird with brown on top but lighter beneath. Seemed to rest tail on trunk as it moved. Got several pictures, but the bird blends in so well. Was looking through Peterson's at the woodpeckers drawing a blank when another hiker stopped. The bird was gone by then but I described it to the hiker, who turned out to be a birder, and he suggested trying a brown creeper. Looked and yep, that was it!
