Media notes
This individual called twice while soaring above the road. The first vocalization can be heard only faintly in the recording, followed by the second vocalization as it soared directly overhead. This bird was soon joined by another raptor (possibly a long-crested eagle), and the two soared hundreds of feet higher overhead before we lost sight of them. We documented no other obvious signs of aggression during this encounter.
Observation details
Mountain buzzard flew out across the road and began soaring overhead, calling twice. It was soon joined by a second bird, suspected but not confirmed to be a long-crested eagle (based on appearance of white wing panels).
