A female Pileated Woodpecker and her mate are regular visitors to my back yard.
Observation details
A mated pair of Pileated Woodpeckers are now coming to my yard together. Usually the female comes first, and the male soon thereafter. During the Fall of 2018 (a few months ago), I saw these birds separately, as they appeared to be hatched during the Spring of 2018. Last weekend, for the first time, I saw them come to my yard together as a mated pair.
