Media notes
Sitting in the middle of a large group of begging Mallards and American Wigeon on the shoreline at the park. Although there are always Mallards and wigeon begging for food there, this is the first time that a Graylag Goose has ever been seen there and apparently the first time this species has been seen in Alaska. There is no evidence to determine if it is a wild or Domestic version of Graylag. I will be checking to see if this goose remains at this location. Goose was still present three days later. Photos taken at Carter Park, Lake Lucille, Wasilla AK. Rare in Alaska. Goose came up out of the water. Can't tell if it's a Domestic type or not.
