Observation details
Gull similar in size to HERG with blackish grey mantle, heavily streaked head and throat, very thick white tertial crescent at rest and in flight, bright pink legs, "string of pearls" on wingtips in flight, and somewhat short winged and pot-bellied when standing. Found originally at around 12:40 by Jeremy Hatt. We watched it for most of the afternoon from shortly after I arrived until about 15:50 when it flew into the landfill, then it flew over toward Lake Erie to probably roost for the night at around 16:40. The reason for this visit!
