Media notes

NOTES: Vocalizations of song in display flight from at least two individuals recorded atop a tundra- covered knoll with tall, dense tussock grass. This was recorded at the 'classic' spot for this species across the Kougarok Road from "Coffee Dome" on the Seward Peninsula. The song at 50 is the only usable piece. I archived the first two segments to document the variation of vocalization types. Telinga Pro6 in flat. Sound Devices 744T with 160Hz HPF. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Tundra, Arctic Tundra, Creek.

Additional species

  • Lapland Longspur Calcarius lapponicus
  • Bar-tailed Godwit Limosa lapponica
  • Hudsonian Whimbrel Numenius hudsonicus
  • Bristle-thighed Curlew Numenius tahitiensis
