Observation details
The Eider was first observed at a distance through scope. Tom thought its head was too rounded to be a COEI and was leaning towards KIEI. The breast appeared lighter than belly and at times bill appeared light to me (Karen) yet darker with a greenish tint to Tom. Tom also observed the bill being lighter towards the tip. The bird climbed up on a small island and when it did and its tail was spread there were lighter feathers towards the edge of the tail. We decided to try to get closer and after stopping in two areas succeeded and were able to observe it resting though a wire fence.
