Observation details
Seen high up heading SW at 12:54 pm. At first thought PEFA when spotted naked eye, but when we got binoculars on it, that thought went away quickly. Kim kept on the bird while I ran inside for the camera and turned the exposure up while running back outside. The bird was still in view. (I think a Peregrine would have been long gone by the time I got back out) While viewing, the bird only flapped it's wings a couple times and they were delicate beats compared to the strong ones of a PEFA. The bird also had a more slender appearance overall with a narrow base of the tail and a squared off end. If we had to guess, it seems like the bird was an adult based on the low contrast, but because of the height and the lighting we can't say for certain. Best surprise of the day.
