Observation details

First seen at approximately 9:25 am standing on ice next to the open water of the Oldman River. Associating with Canada Geese. Watched through binoculars for approximately 10 minutes. I then went to get my scope and field guide from my car, but upon my return, it had left. (Many geese were leaving, presumably to forage in nearby fields, in flocks of between 10 and 50.) The goose may return to the river for the evening, though perhaps not at Peenaquim Park. The identification was discussed with an Alberta eBird reviewer and member of the ABRC. I gladly welcome additional input on the ID.
