Observation details
Originally spotted by group leader Cole Fredricks, north side of Northeast Cell marsh. Responded to playbacks for Virginia Rail, moved close to our group in dense vegetation. Medium-sized rail with reddish-gray streaking on body, slightly decurved beak with yellow-orange underside and dark top. Face noticeably grayer (lighter), a gray 'face mask', than that of the similar and larger King Rail. Photos:
