Observation details
The bird roosting along with a group of small pratincole (150) Characters observed in the field include a long neck, semicircle ring from the eye to neck, black eyes, beak short and small curve, ashy-grey overall, brownish tinted head, the tail is well shorter than wingtip, less forked tail during flight. Behaviour: it was not shy. We observed it for 20-25 min, within the close range of 6-7 meter, during which it only took 3 short flights. it gives a swallow like flight and less forked tail. By the way, we were not able to click good pictures from the field because battery of the camera got exhausted. We had discussed this with Maxim Rodrigues and had not concluded as Oriental but was left to Oriental/Collared Later informed the observation to Sreehari K Mohan who knows the birds well in the area and after a week he had visited the area. He got photographs and confirmed the species Based on these and our notes we claim the possbility of bird for Oriental pratincole
