NOTES: This recording is of an adult bird in a cavity nest with one nestling present. The nest was in a cavity about 1.5m above the ground in a lopped off palmetto about 2.5m tall and 0.3m in diameter. The cavity hole was large enough so that you could look down into the nest about 25cm towards the birds. I placed the MKH20 microphone inside the Telinga Universal windscreen (without the parabolic reflector) inside the cavity. The adult bird swayed back and forth while making these vocalizations. It was clearly disturbed by the presence of the microphone. Despite my announcement, I believe this was completely vocal. I do not believe there were any mechanical sounds produced save the reverb inside the nest cavity. I recorded this nest in MS stereo early morning on 22 April 2007 (LNS 133244). Sound stimulation was (other): Human/microphone presence. Other Behaviors: Emit Alarm. Habitat: Cave.
