Observation details

We startled this Mexican Whip-poor-will when we came around a corner in Elbow Canyon of the Davis Mountains. She had been sitting on a nest on the ground with 2 white eggs. What a treat to see her! After a quick photo we left so she could get back to her nest. Gorgeous bird! Love the whiskers!
