Female Lazuli Bunting in the vacant lot across the street from the boat ramp (Steve Heinl, Larry Peavler, Andy Piston, and Jerry Koerner). The bird was small and drab, mostly looked grayish above and very pale buff below, with orange-buff wash on chest that contrasted with paler throat and belly. Bill short and thick, dark gray. Narrow whitish eyering and very narrow whitish wingbars, the lower barely present. Back and head grayish-brown. Rump pale blue-gray. Tail dark gray with pale blue edges imparting a blueish cast when seen from the side. First Ketchikan record.
