Observation details
Tight flock of geese on the north end included 4 cacklings (short neck, short stubby bill, round head, small size) which appeared to be aluetian (pale breast, larger bill than minima, etc) and 3 apparent canadas that were pale-backed, mid sized (slightly larger than the cacklers, seemed notably smaller than I would expect moffetti), pale breast, mid-length neck. It seemed to me that these birds were most likely taverner’s cacklers or lesser (parvipes) canada, and based on bill shape we thought lesser canada seemed more reasonable.
