Observation details
Female Long-tailed Duck with flock of Bufflehead. Holly Merker found a female Long-tailed Duck at Marsh Creek earlier in the day, also with a flock of Bufflehead. It is possible this is the same bird. Picture on flickr (Long-tailed Duck is the bird on the left) at Flock remained on reservoir as sun was setting. May be possible to relocate in the morning. Flock was up against the Chester County shoreline. Best viewing point was from north side of the 472 bridge (Lancaster County side - look towards Chester County). There is a pull-off there (grassy area) - exercise caution, this is a busy road. You can walk up to the top of the bank and back down towards the reservoir. Scope needed for good views. Picture taken (cropped) with Canon SX50 at 50x zoom.
