NOTES: BNA: Alarm notes, Song?, flock calls? LNS Note: Unbroken cut with internal recordist announcement gain change (MJA, 25Jan2005). SCATTERED CONIFERS AND GRASS TUNDRA AT TIMBERLINE. FEEDING CALLS, FIGHTING CALLS, ALARM NOTES AND PERHAPS SONG. SOME OF THE ALARM NOTES WERE INDUCED BY THROWING SNOWBALLS AT THE BIRDS WHILE THEY WERE FEEDING ALONG THE EDGES OF SNOW PATCHES AT THE TIMBERLINE. A CHASE OCCURRED WHENEVER CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS (SEX AND AGE UNDETERMINED) LANDED TOO NEAR TO OTHERS. THESES CHASES APPEARED TO BE MORE RELATED TO COURTSHIP AND MATING THAN TO FEEDING TERRITORIES. Other Behaviors: Fight, Emit Alarm.
