Observation details
On the north-west side of the lagoon, there is a small sandy & muddy area where I found these plovers foraging together. They were quite alarmed at my presence, and two of them took flight, whistling loudly, and circled once around me. The area was covered with soft mud all around, except near the edge of the water where which was sandy and where algae and other flotsam hand been pushed to the shoreline by the action of the wind. Other small shorebirds, 3 turnstones and 3 plovers, were also seen foraging there. In the attached photo, five Wilson's Plovers can be found standing in the foreground if you search diligently among the miscellaneous pebbles, stones and other typical seashore debris.
