Observation details
This breeding-plumage shorebird was first found and reported by Terry Hodapp shortly after 9:30 a.m. MDT. The field marks that make this shorebird a GRYE are: (1) The heavily marked flanks, (2) the bill that is slightly up-curved, (3) the base of the bill being slightly paler than the distal parts of the bill, and (4) the legs appearing slightly shorter than those for Lesser Yellowlegs, in proportion to the body size. A Lesser Yellowlegs would have less barring on the flanks, a shorter, straighter, one-colored bill. Photographed earlier in the day: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S23146544
