Observation details
P Cadillac Mountain Snowy Owl bike ride. I road my bike up the north ridge loop road making my way to the West Ridge Trail. Starting at the West Ridge trail I found an immature female sitting on an out crop about 500 plus feet below my position on the road. I walk down the West Ridge working my way towards the Snowy. This white faced and V-neck bird allowed me to sit in a fix location for a long period of time. After about an hour it flew right at me on its way across the mountain. Pretty good photos of this close encounter. I had look yesterday coming from the Blackwoods Trail and did not see anyone. Today was pay dirt and the first Snowy of the Year on Cadillac. Just as I was approaching the Snowy Owl a Ruffed Grouse flushed. The Snowy did not go after the Grouse....
