NOTES: I have never been able to determine whether this or the rattling noise is the song, or conversely, a call; I do know that others have referred to this as the song of the species; I saw this bird before I recorded it; when recorded, the bird was 20 meters away and 18-20 meters up in a vegetated tree adjacent to a more open tree in relatively scrubby forest along the road at the edge of the clearing and a small lake right where the road entered a band of forest; there were clearly two birds present and they were seen flying around together after I recorded them (and the more typical ÒcallÓ is heard in the background of the announcement); weather conditions same [partly cloudy with denser rain-like clouds to the east but high thin clouds to the west, quite humid, calm, 83¡ F]. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Lake, Scrub, Edge.
