Observation details
An adult California Gull (subspecies californicus) was present with ~120 other CAGUs on the point. I got good view for about 15 minutes before it disappeared when the other gulls took off. It was preening the whole time. The mantle was substantialy darker compared to the other CAGUs around it, along with extansive black in the primaries, and a black band on P10 and a slightly smaller mirror on P9.
