Observation details
Spencer spotted an interesting gull heading north toward west point. Once I got on the bird I shouted Kittiwake! Sure enough that's what it was. Off West Point and off north beach. Hunting and on water. Hunting by flying low over water (2-20 feet) into wind, falling off wind and dashing toward and into water, plunging partially into water after prey (small fish). Juvenile with black crescent on nape and heavily marked wings with near "M" pattern.
