Observation details

***mega; juv; photos; seen extremely well at 10:00 at which point Jeremiah was independently watching it. We relocated it together with other birds at 10:20 and watched and photographed it until 11:00 at which point it flew off to the south. Finally refound at 16:00 and watched for 30 minute4s, including perched in a tree for a while. Large swallow (obvious martin) with long neck and head and long, strongly notched tail. Upperparts even brown, with darker primaries. Greater coverts tipped in white giving fresh look to upperparts and indicating a juvenile. Underparts white from throat to vent, but with a strong breastband across the mid-breast and a small, very hard to see row of black spotting down the central breast (confirming fusca ssp.). A whitish collar extended up behind the auriculars and a pale spot in the lores. Second state record and 7th for USA. Photos on eBird Flickr group.
