NOTES: This bird was initially unseen but about 10 meters away and 8 meters up overhead along the road adjacent to a 5 meter-wide strip of second-growth trees, on one side of which was the road and a slope with scrubby second-growth and on the other side was a small marsh [08¡ 59' 13Ó S, 35¡ 50' 22Ó W, 395 meters - about half way out the row]; the bird then flew to a Cecropia in the middle of the marsh, where it was 30 meters away and 12-14 meters up near the top of the tree, and following playback, it changed to giving ÒalternateÓ songs; the bird raised its crest on occasion and it seemed to vary the volume of its songs rather considerably; high thin clouds and hazy, calm, 78-79¡ F. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Freshwater, Evergreen Forest, Creek, Rural, Thicket/Brush, Second-growth, Scrub, Edge.
