NOTES: A pair of birds recorded following playback of the Antbird Master tape (I did not hear anything prior to playback), initially 10-12 meters away, but later 15-25 meters away; both times the birds were low (1-3 meters up) in the dense vegetation as they moved back-and-forth along the stream right where it crossed the road at the sharp bend at the bottom of the hill; in response to playback, the male came screaming in silently with its inter-scapular patch flared but it later gave normal songs; I saw the male very well but I failed to see the female today (though it was clearly present, given that many of these songs are duets); partly cloudy, calm, 74¡ F; first part not copied. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Cercomacra laeta sabinoi to Cercomacra laeta to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Creek, Riparian.
