Observation details
This bird was foraging actively early in the morning (around 6:30 am) on this fence. Rounded head and apparent eyering suggested Empidonax (and I later heard E. traillii close to the same spot), but the very long wings and heavyish shading on the flanks indicate it was Contopus. Wing bars and mandible are right for virens (not sordidulus), and long primary extension excludes C. cinereus.
