Observation details
At 1548, spotted a suspected PRFA briefly on a fencepost on the hill E of Head Ln. It was gone before 1551, and then at 1552 I saw a large Falco flapping E over me in reach 4, ca 3x shrub height. Not spotted until more or less tail-on; it continued across Head Ln, lower over the grassy hill rising to the east, then swooped up to land on top of a power pole (more photos). Still there at 1600, then gone by 1602. Photos show yellow feet, indicating an adult. Earlier, from ca 1114-1120, an unidentified raptor seen on post on the top of the hill E of Head Ln - photos and video. Funny shape - slim and small but with a bulky head. Wings close to length of tail. Photos seemed to suggest a Buteo, but looking at video, in spite of heat waves, it seemed to have the shape and facial pattern of a falcon. May have been the same PRFA.
