NOTES: When recorded, this bird was about 15 meters away and as low as 2 1/2-3 meters up, but usually 5-15 meters up, on trunks in terra firme forest about 300 meters beyond the first stream crossing along the right fork of the second spur (ramal) road in the INCRA project; this was recorded following my whistled imitation, in response to which, the bird came right in and moved all around me, but it sang only infrequently despite moving quite a bit, so it was difficult to follow; there was a swarm of Eciton burchelli in the area, but the birds attending it were being very difficult to see in the dense undergrowth; partly cloudy, calm, 80¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Scold. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
