NOTES: BNA: Song Range status: CAPTIVITY; THE BIRDS WERE RECORDED DURING EARLY MORNINGS IN JUNE AND JULY OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL WEEKS. THEY HAD BEEN TRAPPED DURING THE WINTER OF 1957 AT ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY AND BROUGHT TO ITHACA BY W.C. DILGER. THE 'SONGS' ARE ESSENTIALLY 'WHIS MALE(S); FEMALE(S)PER SONGS' AND WERE HARDLY AUDIBLE UNLESS CLOSE TO THE CAGE. MOSTLY MALES, SOME CHIRPS FROM FEMALES. Other Behaviors: Whisper.
