Sound Recording Log: "Date: 11 APR 1975. Time start rec.: 1257. Time stop rec.: 1325. Boat: Erline. Short reel. Tape #'s: 5. Position: 3 miles north of Argus Tower. Weather: overcast 16-18 kt winds. Sea state & noise level: 8'-12' sea est. Depth: est. 30 fath. Propulsion & aux. noise status: all secured. Recorder: Uher. Filters: -. Gain: 30 -3dB 100. Hydrophone: CH-1a. Other notes: Squeaks are aboard, ship rolls heavily. Rain squalls heard on 1/2 reel point. Called quits on this reel before reel ends. Note: During the period of the rain squall there is no noticeable change with the animals' signals. One might question whether rain frequencies mask animal sounds, or cause them to talk stronger." SEAOCEAN.
