NOTES: We initially saw and recorded two birds (presumably a pair) as they circled about at moderate distance and then dove into a large tree, which we later realized was occupied a troop of 3-4 Cebus apella; when in the tree initially, the calling bird was about 150 m away, but it soon flew off to a tree that was probably 200-300 m away; subsequent whistling resulted in a single bird flying back-and-forth and again landing briefly in this same tree about 50 m up overhead; it shifted branches before eventually flying off again; I saw the birds relatively well in flight but Luciano N. Naka also saw the one as it perched overhead (I saw only the shape and movement while I was recording); this was recorded in tall but somewhat broken, terra firme forest along the Aguas Claras Road a short distance beyond the campina on the far side of the hill; partly cloudy, consistently breezy (10 knots), and in the upper 80s; this recording combines four files (#CAR140-143). Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
