Observation details
Perched on a mound of dirt and rocks near the fenced in retention pond on the N side of the road (approx: 41.064564,-77.904466). After a few minutes, the owl flew off towards the WNW and dropped down behind a row of pine trees, but was out of view at that point. Hunters nearby were aware of the owl being in that area. This is the 4th Snowy Owl reported in Centre County so far this winter. This was a medium to large Snowy, with a plumage score of 3.
