Observation details
Medium-sized goose, larger than cackling goose and slightly smaller than nearby dusky Canada goose. Brown neck and body with white belly and vent, white u-shape above tail above when in flight. Small black bill with orange subterminal band, bright orange legs. Individual limps and often found with cackling goose flock in McFadden Marsh. Seen in McFadden Marsh today, south of bridge on Bruce Rd, preening and sleeping. Goose has been previously seen from marsh blind, north of Bruce Rd at bridge, and feeding in open fields at west end of Bruce Rd as well. Outside of Finley NWR, goose relocated at nearby plowed corn field with cacklers, south of Old River Rd.
