Observation details
Found bird in marshy area on north side of Mud Bight. Initially detected bird by odd sounding call notes that did not sound quite right for anything we would expect to find at Ketchikan - a harsh "tchek", huskier and courser than the softer "chip" of Pacific Wren. It was very difficult to get a clear look at the bird but after 10 or 15 minutes we had a brief view and could see it had a distinct white supercillium and that it clearly was not a Pacific Wren. After another 10 minutes or so the bird finally flushed into an open area where we were able to both get photos of the bird.
