Observation details
First noticed as a tiny speck floating high across the sky, barely discernible in my 10x binoculars. Fortunately, I was able to focus my camera on it, and got several shots that clearly showed it to be a gull. However, unlike what I expected to see for a Ring-billed, the photos show a lack or any black in the wingtips, very pale mantle, white "bar" on the leading edge of the upperwing, and a dark trailing edge on the wing. Rather unexpected to find one so far from a reservoir.
