NOTES: Perched in a creosote bush. [Twenty songs and song fragments, many of which are quite long in duration, and most of which contain at least a few instances of mimicry. The most obvious imitations appear to be of calls of Stelgidopteryx serripennis (1:26-1:265, 3:23-3:24, 5:15-5:16, 5:43-5:44, 6:06-6:07, 6:305-6:31, 7:03-7:035, 7:39-7:40, 7:515-7:525, 8:29-8:30, 9:39-9:40, 10:145-10:155, and 12:45-12:46), but there also appear to be imitations of Callipepla gambelii (0:285-0:29, 5:48-5:495), Numenius americanus (5:345-5:35), Numenius phaeopus (5:445-5:46, 6:365-6:375, 7:175-7:185, 8:27-8:28, 9:045-9:055, 9:37-9:38), Aeronautes saxatalis (10:425-10:435), Sayornis saya (0:275-0:285, 3:09-3:10), Myiarchus cinerascens (1:555, 1:565, 1:57, 5:33-5:345), Hirundo rustica (1:365, 2:475), Baeolophus griseus (9:55-9:56, 10:34-10:36, 11:115-11:13, 12:06-12:07, 12:34-12:345), Mimus polyglottos (8:11-8:125, 8:40-8:41, 12:275-12:28), Passer domesticus (5:37-5:38, 6:38-6:40, 7:135-7:155, 7:45-7:465, 8:04-8:055, 8:20-8:21, 8:53-8:545, 9:225-9:24, 9:495-9:505, 10:10-10:11, 10:31-10:33, 11:215-11:225, 12:29-12:30, 12:505-12:52), and possibly Auriparus flaviceps (11:57-11:58, if not really this species). Elements are regularly repeated two, three, or even four times. Quality unchanged (1-2, 2 - quality about the same throughout (approaching quality 1) but with a distant airplane beginning about 6:10) - CAM - 9 November 2005]. Habitat: Desert.
