Observation details
At 1004, 1 ATSP flew up from grasses under a leaning Alnus incana in reach 4, perched in the same alder, then flew farther off. Called a few times. Initially about 6 m from me. Ca 1019, heard "tsip" calls from the vicinity of the red culverts and located 2 UNSP in small Alnus incana with leaves still, then another flew in from the N, then all 3 flew E to a large Elaeagnus angustifolia, then NE to a Prunus virginiana row. Got photos there - at least 1 was ATSP and I presumed all 3 were. At 1030 as I moved upstream, a sparrow (the same WCSP seen a few minutes before?) flew up from low near the stream into a small Elaeagnus angustifolia and made upslurred "seet" calls. It was joined by an ATSP from a leafless Alnus incana a bit farther upstream, which made unslurred, emphatic "tip" calls, then flew E. At 1145, saw another ATSP flying E at 1x shrub height in reach 3, then landing near shrubs near one of the E ponds. 2 more then flew in from farther upstream and made "tseep" calls from an Alnus incana at one of the middle ponds. Ca 1157-1201, I observed (probably the same) 2 ATSP near 1 of the middle ponds, close to each other, foraging low in small Alnus incana and Symphoricarpos occidentalis. Got photos of one. Ca 1205-1211, 3 more ATSP flew in from upstream and I observed them all (presumably) foraging around the pond. I watched one in particular, dabbing its bill in the shallow water at the far edge of the pond while perched on dead grass stems that were part-way in the water. At 1727, saw 1 ATSP fly up from dry grass on the streambank to the same Salix where the PAWA was (reach 4), calling.
