Observation details
This is TPRF #1124. A female first showed up at Jeanie and Terry Naas' seed feeder on Dec 12, 1992. I came out two days later, photographed it, and alerted Greg Lasley and others. Many observers (at least 20) found it here through Dec 16, 1992. My notes: "1 female - Olive-gray with black wings cut by 1 wide wingbar at lower end and 1 thin one at upper end. Distinctively narrow black bill crossed at tips of mandibles typical of crossbills. Yellow rump lightly streaked. Heavily but diffusely streaked back; Diffuse streaking below. Yellow rump. White undertail coverts streaked by distinct black chevrons. Dark forked tail. Noticeably larger than goldfinches by about 1/4 x"
