Observation details
I wasn't sure what to expect as we pulled into the car park... and then, as soon as I hopped out of the car, a cheerful, distinctly tropical call came from the bush. Ninety nine percent sure I was on the right track, I set off in pursuit. Success! The male of the pair was loudly singing at every opportunity, high in the trees, seeming very pleased with himself! It was lovely to observe the behaviour of an Oriole properly, for once, such as the way it wagged its tail slightly while calling. I didn't end up finding the female, as I didn't wish to disturb the remarkable nest others have seen. All up, I felt the Oriole wasn't going anywhere in a hurry, seeming very content where he was! A wonderful bird!
