Observation details
Immature. Small-medium buteo. Brown upper parts, with some pale edges to scapulars and coverts, and barring on flight feathers. Distinct white-buff supercilium. Medium-sized bill with yellow cere. Dark gray bill, dark brown eye. Underparts: brown streaked breast, brown barring on belly. Yellow legs. Banded tail, live accipiter. Sat on prominent perches (wire, building, tree stumps) as well as on interior limbs of trees. Flight low to the ground on quick wing-beats. Rounded wings. Similar in structure to BWHA/RSHA. Pale lump on left side of face, in lores could be avian pox? Initially at the horse farm on Military Road, west of NBC, then flew to trees on Hackberry Trail at the NBC.
