Observation details
Heard distinctive call coming from treeline across the field I was searching for butterflies within. Call was loud, distinctive and absolute for Evening Grosbeak. Remained transfixed in the area for another 90 minutes listening for it again. Could not find it perched when it was calling and could not find, nor hear it again for the remainder of my time spent. I've put a very poor photo into this record, as I believe I captured a female within a group of American Robins that were perched very distant, but in the direction of the call I heard.
