NOTES: Bird was 20 m away and about eye level in Coastal Sage Scrub along Coon Creek Trail not far from parking lot; bird seen before but not when recorded; at end of recording California Thrasher chased towhee off and then perched up and began calling from top of leafless shrub (#05-RDAT03-09); completely clear, intermittent breeze of about 5 knots down canyon, upper 40s to low 50s. Other Behaviors: Flush, Advertise, Fight. Habitat: Chaparral, Scrub.
