ID confirmed by vocalization.
Observation details
heard and seen around the compost. Classic nasal calls heard repeatedly. photos. Note apparent molting of secondaries. I have read that molt occurs later in Fish Crows than American Crows but am not aware of any literature (particular to VT) that would suggest this timing is sufficient to ID an individual visually. In flight, wings appeared shorter and more pointed than American Crow with a somewhat more pigeon-like flight pattern.
