Observation details
Noticeable warm brown tones to bird as it harassed gulls. Very nearly the same size as the RBGU it was chasing in length and wing span. Prominent white primary shafts were apparent on both upper and under side of wings. (See poor photos.) Central rects minimally protruding, although unable to define shape as the birds movement was swift. Total decent viewing time was less than a minute. We quickly motored after as it raced west and was frequently lost to sight as it flew below the horizon. One last sighting was a solid 800 meters distant as it pursued a smaller BOGU.
